Senate Democrats hold fast to anti-piracy bill
By Stephen C. Webster Thursday, January 19, 2012
By all accounts, the Internet’s first politically motivated mass work-stoppage on Wednesday was a rousing success, and so far 13 19 U.S. Senators have flipped their stance on pending anti-piracy legislation that critics say would severely harm the freedom of speech online. But the real story is, all but two of them are Republicans. (Update, 1:20 p.m. EST: A third Democrat, Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK), came out against the anti-piracy legislation later Thursday morning, bringing the total number of Senators now opposed to 26.)

Exclusive: Gingrich Lacks Moral Character to Be President, Ex-Wife Says

In her first television interview since the 1999 divorce, to be broadcast tonight on Nightline, Marianne Gingrich, a self-described conservative Republican, said she is coming forward now so voters can know what she knows about Gingrich.

Ron Paul proposes bill to repeal indefinite detention provision :bowdown::bowdown:
By Eric W. Dolan Wednesday, January 18, 2012
Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) introduced legislation to the U.S House on Wednesday that would repeal Section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012.
The $662 billion defense spending bill contained controversial provisions, Sections 1021 and 1022, that required terrorism suspects to be detained by the military without trial, regardless of where they were captured.
Proponents of the bill claimed it merely clarified existing law, but human rights advocates and others said the provisions were unconstitutional...

Washington (CNN) – Mitt Romney is all tied up with President Barack Obama in a likely general election matchup, with the president showing signs of weakness on the economy and Romney seen as out of touch with ordinary Americans, according to a new national survey. And a CNN/ORC International Poll released Monday also indicates that Rep. Ron Paul of Texas is also even with Obama in another possible showdown this November. The survey also suggests the Republican advantage on voter enthusiasm is eroding,...
